[quote][quote]Having owned both TH2go (now sitting in a hall closet) and Eyefinity (currently struggling with bugs/inability to select reasonable resolutions), I can assure you that both suck in their own, unique ways.
But would you play without them? Shouldn't you say that they are both good in their unique way?
I certainly would - and do - play without them. Although I'm seriously considering dragging my old TH2go digital out from the closet just to see if I could finally get it working at 5040x1050.
The issue I'm having with Eyefinity is, ironically, exactly the opposite of what hobbles the TH2go: The resolution (5760x1200) is
too high. Games run poorly with what I consider to be reasonable image quality settings. And I don't consider anything less than 60fps to be acceptable, in the sense that I'd much rather have a single screen at 60fps than a triplehead setup with significantly less.
I just finished testing Dirt 2, and at 5760x1200 you have to dial the image quality so far down to get 60fps that it just isn't worth it.
Dang dude. Anything below 60 fps is unacceptable? I'm fine with 30fps for anything but trigger happy, twitchy online competitive play.
