I had hd6970s crossfire at about 50-60 fps at med to high With hbao off. Had way to much stutter with crossfire and had tearing on the displayport so I sold them and I am waiting on the new ASUS HD7970 DirectCU II. Hopefully that will give decent fps no tearing and no stutter. Really I think this is your best bet. Hope this helps. Also anyone having issues with planes, helocopters, and javelins heat seekers not showing the neon color square lockon, I only hear the beeps. Any help would be helpful. Thanks and good luck.

yes i have aa on 16x hbao is on native i think it said

but i have turned them all down to low doesn't seem to make much of a difference with frame rate only looks ugly

Well, turning down AA should increase your framerate a lot. Sounds like potentafricathunder is your bests bet.

@Eniglsk8er; I'm getting that one too, would you mind telling me how you found the card and why you are buying it? Thanks.

Pulled the specs on your board....

So you have 3 PCI-E 2.0 slots that run at x16 x16 x1 so that shouldnt be a problem...

Have you tried running GPU-Z and seeing what speed the cards are running at?

I took screenshots of how you can run the render test in GPU-Z if you're not familiar with it....Make sure you click that question mark there so you get the second prompt shown
They (hopefully) should both say PCI-E 2.0 X16 or X8 depending on the specs shown on Asus's website. You'll see the speed in the bottom right hand corner
if one of them show PCI-E 1.0, that may be where your problem lies.

I choose the asus directcu 7970 because it has 4 displayports. I had 2 6970s and the microstutter was more than I could handle. I also have the wonderful displayport tearing / mixed connection tearing issue... So the flex 6g from sapphire and the asus 7970 was e 2 best choices but since the flex6g won't be out for awhile i am going with the asus.... Good luck finding one though... I've been looking for awhile and I may have found one from a random site.. Time will tell.
All in all if your spending your hard earned money on a eyefinity setup.. Tearing is just not acceptable.. Nether is micro stutter...

Any one have crossfire 7970s with NO micro stutter? Any easy fix for it? Also is microstutter 100% of the time if u have crossfire or is it a case by case thing ? If so What is the percent of people who experience it?... I mainly play BF3 if I could gt that running perfect I would be super happy. Thanks guys

The card hasn't been released yet. Also rumor has it that the 7970E6 will launch at the end of this month. I'm pretty sure the Asus 7970 will launch sooner though.

i7 950 @ 3 Ghz
6 GBs DDR3 RAM
Radeon HD 6970

I play the game on 3 23" monitors at 5760X1080 at around high settings. I don't know exactly but I would guess I average around 30-40 FPS most times. It dips occasionally if something intense is happening, but other than that it's totally playable. I think my AA is at 2X, my textures are on Ultra, and everything else is a mix between high and ultra.

I got a question now, got the GPU-Z, and it flucuated the Bus interface on my GPU and goes between "PCI-E 3.0x16 @ x8 1.1" and "PCI-E 3.0x16 @ x8 2.0"

Im using 2x sapphire 7970s setup in crossfire, on the ASUS p8z68-V Gen 3/pro motherboard, 8gigs of G.Skill Sniper 1600, and a i5 2500k

I pretty much have the same problem the OP had, got the GPU-Z and noticed that, Also, Why would it display my first card with a BUS width of 384 bit and 264.0 GB/s and the second card 32 bit and 22.0 GB/s

would that have anything to do with it at all?

If you guys want to read a good review about which settings to turn up and to turn down, you should read this guide. Also try to run BF3 on a lower res, that will help a lot as well. I really prefer 60 fps constant when playing online games so am using these settings.

Oh, please don't. I'd run everything on ultra low if I could just leave the resolution as it's supposed to be. But that's just me :)
