Code:
I'm afraid that this release from ATI is a death blow for Matrox's TripleHead2Go series as what ATI is offering is more advanced, has a larger userbase and is cheaper as it comes native in the graphics card. People no longer have to spend 250 to 300 USD for this feature while gaining much better monitor resolutions. The one remark here though is that that games must be, or get, supported with the somewhat unusual and massive screen resolutions.

So yes really dog ... that's all we'll be using. A very affordable PC, remember we are GPU bound at a massive resolution of 5760x1200, not CPU or system bound. the MSI motherboard is CrossfireX compatible so we'll be using two Radeon HD 5870 cards for this test. Alright, let's start it up.

Quote from the review, it seems like it works with Crossfire then... yay

They did all that work creating the videos, but where are the performance benchmarks?

What are you going to benchmark it against? there is no other video card that offers this, and TripleHead2Go goes up to 5040, all his testing was at 5760.

Maybe we will get benchmarks once the 5850 comes out and the x2s, comparing each video card.

Though it would have been nice to see the performance at different resolutions at least.

Just because there's nothing else to test against doesn't mean people wouldn't want to see what kind of FPS they would be getting with a 2x5870 CF @ 3x1920x1200. I know I am certainly interested in that..

I'd be really suprised if CF actually worked!
I mean, he mentions it various times:

you'll very likely need at least two 5870 cards in CrossfireX.

So yes, you must consider and opt CrossfireX

Radeon HD 5870 1024MB (2x)

get two Radeon HD 5870 X2's

the MSI motherboard is CrossfireX compatible so we'll be using two Radeon HD 5870 cards for this test

Do you guys think it's the real deal?!

He does mentions the FPS he was getting with many of the games, right after each video...

HAWX
This was the best title for me personally. We test at DX10 with 2xAA. We average out at roughly 37 frames per second.

DMC 4
fun to watch As you can see we average out at roughly roughly 45 FPS.

Crysis
Crysis is very lenient for Eyefinity alright. And yeah, AA was disabled, of course. With medium quality settings (and object detail to high) with no AA we average out at roughly 30 FPS at 5760x1200. Yet in very complex scenes the framerate dropped below 30 FPS to 24 FPS.

Well, guru3d afaik, is a trustable source, and Hilbert a serious reviewer, but it sounds really weird since ATI said that crossfire support would be added later in the eyefinity technology.

Maybe you can activate it but it does nothing, placebo...

It would have been nice if he benchmarked the single 5870 against 2 of them.
