I'm planning on getting 3 x 24" in the near future, currently have the U2410 and the HP equivalent top of the list because of their native DP support and quality panels. However, looks like the HP is going to be replaced soon, shame since its bezels are small.

Do we have a list here of what other 24" setss have native DP? Also, bearing in mind possible potrait use, bezel design needs to be uniform - seems to be many designs out there (cerainly in the smaller screens) with large bulges at top or bottom.

A) People prefer not to use wide-gamut displays like the ones you listed.

B) People have noted special quality concerns regarding tinted or otherwise malfunctioning displays based on the panel in the Dell U2410 and the HP LP2475w. I would read a hundred pages of forum feedback on these and see if you still want to buy one.

C) A particular favorite for people interested in getting a 24" is the inexpensive 23" NEC EA231WMi, so don't discount slightly smaller or larger sets. HP is coming out with the ZR22w and ZR24w in a few days, which are being closely watched as potential contenders for the new 'favorite Eyefinity monitor' crown. The U2711 is another one that people are drooling at.

I run a list here, the WSGF list on the left side of your screen is mostly accurate & will include non-displayport screens. Adapters are always an option.

I am running 3 Dell 2405FPW monitors and think they work very well.
I have tried them in both portrait and landscape modes and viewing angles are good IMHO.
The thing about monitors is it is very easy to get cought up in the "technospeak"
I had a 2405FPW and liked it so I bought 2 more (200 or so each on ebay) and have been happy.
If I had read all about the "input Lag" or slow response time or lack od DP I might have never got the monitors.
As it is I could not be happier I have 3 24" good looking monitors with a active DP dongle for $700.

Reading and research are vital...but in the end it is YOUR eyes ....(and wallet) that matter.

A) Not necessarily true, considering I have 3 wide gamut displays

B) U2410's are still by far superior to any TN Model display you could find.

Thanks for the replies. I already have a 2407 but would like to get three new monitors to go with it.

Obviously, looking towards a multi monitor Eyefinity setup (and that means an Eyefinity6 card) then it only seems common sense to go with DP capable monitors. I also want good/high quality panels for other work I do (graphical) so that really rules out TN panels which also seem to be largely 6 bit these days.

I'll be looking closely at the new HP, does look like it'll have larger bezels than the previous model though (and it's not black...)

My second point though was that it seems monitor manufacturers are increasingly doing more with the bezels than they need to (as well as switching to 16:9  ) which means potential side by side portrait use is compromised - the Dell and HP at least have uniform bezels on the sides and top/bottom as opposed to the larger or scalloped shapes some monitors seem to have which then effectively makes their use in side by side portrait unworkable.
