Ffirst post here so first of all hello :)

Now down to the reason I came to bother you all :p

REcently got a Sapphire 5870 witht he intentions of Eyefinity.

Purchased the Apple Mini Display Port > DVI connector.
then purchased a miniDP > DP Adapter on eBay

This one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290385000985&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

the Monitors I currently have at my disposal:

2x Dell S2409w
1x Samsung 245b+
1x Dell SP2309w

I have tried both the 10.1's and the recently leaked 10.2's
Both Give Similar results.

I has of yet been unable to locate the Sapphire bios for the increased performance on the DP.

So my testing is as follows:

10.1 :-

S2409x2 1 on DVI 1 one Displayport - Resolution Error
S2409x2 2 on DVI - Fine
S2409x2 1 on DVI 1 on DP>DVI>HDMI - Blank screens on Reboot

S2409x2 on DVI +:
245b on DP>DVI - Fine
SP2309w on DP>DVI - Resolution Error

What I noticed with this was that in Catalyst it was showing the Samsung info correctly thru the DP
Correct Name, Res and connection info.

10.2 :-
S2409 1on DVI 1on DP>DVI>HDMI - Shows correct info thru catalyst but when apply is hit drops resolution
It shows as: Dell S2409, DTV, Displayport,1920*1080@60Hz

S2409x2+ SP2309W on DP>DVI>HDMI - Fine

There are HDMI Adapters I have tried one is DVI-D Single link the other is DVI-D Dual link, both appear to work with the S2309W

So the Setup working on the 2309w is:
Display port to Mini DP adapter > Apple MiniDP to DVI Adapter > DVI to HDMI Adapter > Dell SP2309w

Setup Working on the Sammy is simply:
DP to Mini DP Adapter > Apple Mini DP to DVI > Samsung 245b

I have as yet been unable to get any of the DisplayPort options working correctly with the S2409w's, which incidentally are my monitors :(
the other 2 I have been playing about with are my flatmates.

I have already had a play about with EDID creation but couldn't get that working correctly.

Are there any other things I could try?
would the Sapphire DP Bios update be of any use? (Currently running stock bios)
If it appears that the S2409's are going to be of no use for the DP adapter I have a couple of options...

Sell the current 2 (seem to pull about £150 on eBay) and buy 3 new monitors.
Buy a 3rd 24" 1920*1080 screen, could use as centre screen.

any help appreciated, thanks for reading :)
