Hey all,

Bioshock 2 was released today and it does not support properly the eyefinity resolution. I think it has the same problem as the original bioshock.

Is there a way to fix this? widescreen fixer was nice for the bioshock 1 so I am hoping for something similar for bioshock 2?

A couple of screens:

I have the same issue so the game is unplayable in eyefinity atm and Imagine also this affects Th2Go

Sad when they patch it in on the first game and do not even bother adding it to the second. Well It will sit on my shelf till it gets eyefinity support

It's Vert- is all... I doubt they will completely patch the issue, but hopefully a community fix is coming. UE3 should be pretty well known to the hackers now-a-days.

Well, there is a fix in the works already by 2K.

It will scale horizontally, so at least the view will be correct... but I don't know about the HUD elements. Those might still stretch.

And UE2/UE3 is the devil for hackers. :) I can't think of a more annoying, complicated, complex engine to try and hack.

Since starting to use Eyeinfity I've found that I'm starting to prefer some wonky HUD elements. They're often larger, thus easier to see in my periphery.

Well, I just wanted to let people know that Bioshock 2 is not working if in landscape mode with Eyefinity. I tried to get some screenshots, but they wouldn't come out right (I would take a screenshot in gameplay, yet the screenshot would be half of the main menu.) Essentially, the game looks like it is zoomed in too much, very much like Mass Effect 2. Rather disappointing, imo.

Also, fps seem to really suck. While my system is not too beefy (i7 920, dual 5770s) the game is running at about 30 fps, depending on the settings I have. If I lower the resolution, it seems to really help. So I'm thinking "Wow, I didn't think these cards were that craptacular. Maybe I need to upgrade." Well, it turns out that even with 2 5970s that would be the case:

Note that on the screen it says that Crossfire doesn't seem to be working.

Is that supposed to be funny?

I agree on FPS though, my framerate can't stand still at all especially during combat.

Lame, you'd think they would have learned when they released BioShock 1 and it didn't have proper widescreen support.. not even giving them a penny till they have EF support.

Guess they got another letdown on their hands (what with the low fps and lack of widescreen, and the drm bs), graphics aren't even anywhere near Crysis levels to warrant having such low fps.

That HUD is going to be problematic. The only way I could deal with shop screens in the first games was thanks to SoftTH's "squish" feature that lets you hit a hotkey to take the output of all 3 screens and put it on your center monitor (effectively un-stretching the menus).
