Hey guys,

I've been a long term fan of dual displays, however have been using a NEC 24WMGX3 (24" 1920x1200) on my gaming PC for a while. Recently I upgraded from a 512MB 9800GT to a Sapphire 5850 1GB and have the hunger for a 3x1 setup.

Of course having a screen such as the NEC means I can't really afford comparable displays to sit either side, but I'm thinking 2x 24" 1920x1080 panels should be fine. My only concern is about performance - all the games I play run well on the single display but when I extend to a resolution of 5760x1080 will the whole setup fall to bits?

My full spec is:

C2D E8500 @ stock
Asus P5QL-Pro (I know, I know, it was a cheap replacement to my DS3 that died)
4GB RAM (DDR2-800)
Sapphire 5850 1GB
X-Fi ExtremeGamer

For reference the games I'm playing are:
MW2, DiRT 2, TF2, PES2010, maybe BC2 if the full release is considerably better than the beta was :p

Cheers all in advance,
Dave

Mate I am using a very similar setup and it's rock solid, no performance issues with all settings on very high. I play Dirt 2, L4D2, and have tried the BF2 BC2 beta and it's fine.

Specs in my sig.

Yes should be fine the 5850 is a powerful card. You will have 5040 x 1050 as an intermediate resolution also if things get slow.

Cheers guys. Though in a way I was hoping you'd say "no chance" and I wouldn't have to spend £300 on a pair of monitors :(

:D

Seems to work pretty good here, too. (3) x 1920x1200 = 5760 x 1200. Coupled with an older LGA775 board and an E8200 @ 3.84 Ghz.
