Link below I copy and pasted the text minus pictures for those that do not want to look at the article but if this comes out It should be pretty nimble and it makes me want one :) http://www.pcper.com/comments.php?nid=8621 While the card we are showing here is a production sample, ASUS assures us that it will be available in about 2 months or so. The ASUS ARES as it is called is a dual-GPU Evergreen product with a pair of TRUE HD 5870 GPUs - not a combination of HD 5850 GPUs like the Radeon HD 5970 released back in November. In fact, the HD 5870 Cypress cores are overclocked slightly past the default 850 MHz - though how much ASUS hasn't shown us yet. Also, the card features 4GB of GDDR5 frame buffer - 2GB per GPU! But all of this will cost you a bit of power - notice in the photo above that the ARES card will require two 8-pin power connections AND a 6-pin power connection. Gulp. We are eager to see some performance numbers from the card and hopefully I'll be able to post those later this afternoon. Stay tuned!! With a score of more than 28.4k on the GPU result in a quick run of 3DMark Vantage, the ASUS ARES dual HD 5870 graphics card is easily the fastest single card we have ever tested! For comparison, the GeForce GTX 480 scored 17,287 while the stock Radeon HD 5970 (dual HD 5850s essentially) scored 21,111. Obviously with a CPU score of 24,920 ASUS has an overclocked CPU at work, but for GPU score comparisons, this gives the ARES a 34% performance advantage over any other single card available. The ARES looks to be FAST - but be prepared to PAY to get it. |

And pray to the Almighty that you never need technical support assistance with any of their products. |

Lol, whoever wrote this is seriously misinformed. Are you sure you wanna get your information from someone who doesn't even know what a 5970 is? |

The 5970 core is clocked at the 5850 rates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_AMD_graphics_processing_units#Evergreen_.28HD_5xxx.29_series |

5970's is two 5850 cores from everything I have read about it online where this is supposed to be two 5870's All Refrence ATI HD 5970 GPU's Contain 2x 5870 CHERRY picked GPU Cores on board. These Cores were picked out of a line up becuase they had LOW leackage and required low volts hence perfect for a dual card board. To keep the Heat and Watts below the 300 mark they had to down clock and under volt the cores to 5850 speeds All you need to do is overclock them to the 5870 speed and it will match a 5870 CF. I have one so i should knows |

I don't see the point of this without adding 6 Mini-DP Ports. Unless you're driving 3 30"rs. |

We cant have an eyefinity profile with more than 6 spanned. :/ But, if you have a game that could make use of the double screen real estate, sure, why not. Though, if we can use just one more, we could do 7x1 Portrait 1080p Screens. :] |
