So I'm about to upgrade in the next few days to a HD Radeon 5850 and am looking to do a 3x1 setup. I would like to do 3 of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009219&cm_re=21.5%22-_-24-009-219-_-Product mainly because I am on a budget. I was warned by a friend that this may be too small a screen for a 1920x1080 resolution. Can anyone say more about that? Also should I just suck it up and buy 2 more of my current 23" monitor these --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009179 Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Depends if you plan on landscape or portrait mode and whether the stands on the monitors allow you that flexibility (which they don't appear to do), if not you might need to get a separate stand.

I'd be inclined to get two more of your current monitor as newegg lists them coming with cables (perhaps the other one does too?) and don't forget you'll need to get an adaptor.

Well I would like to do landscape with the 21.5s and also I have about 50 extra DVI and VGA cables at work so I don't really need to worry about that. And I plan on getting myself an adapter as well, going to try the dp-vga adapter first.

Ultimately it comes down to cost then.

I have also heard that a larger resolution on "smaller" monitor, having smaller pixels, can enable you to not notice or require higher levels of AA if eyecandy is your thing. My preference would be the bigger monitors.

As to the DP-VGA, I use the HP one - bought from Amazon

I'm with suedenim here, when I had 19"rs, I did love playing on it, but I always felt like i needed it to be taller. So when I upgraded to 23"rs, I was like, WHOA! So I think bigger is better, but it does matter if you can afford it.
