Hello everyone,
Basically, I am looking to set up an Eyefinity system with 3 monitors, and I have become fairly confused by the whole thing, and can't seem to find a straight answer, alot of the posts I'm reading are quite old so I don't know if things have changed or not.

I need to know if 3 2443BW monitors along with a DisplayPort to DVI Dual-Link Adapter (or something similar from a different brand) will work as a suitable eyefinity setup. I'm running an ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series card.

I eagerly await your response,
Synthon

Basically:

1) If you want eyefinity to work you NEED to use the DP connector on the card. Hence using the adaptors.

2) You either need a DP > VGA or DVI adaptor that is active, or a native DP monitor.

3) To get bezel compensation you need to have 3 identical screens. Same res/ size is not good enough.

Those are the first 3 big things that come to mind with Eyefinity.

As for adaptors that work well that are cheap, I don't have personal experience with them, but a lot of people do, worth having a look in some other threads for that info.

You no longer need a "dual-link" adapter. There are more cost effective "single-link" dvi active adapters available now. The key is that is needs to be an active adapter. As long as you're 1920 or less resolution single-link will work. The main thing that has changed since the 5800 series is that there are now single-link active adapters available for reasonable price. "Dual-link" is only needed for displays over 1920.

The 2443BW look to be the replacement to my 245BW. Keep in mind that you'll need a desk capable of holding 5 foot wide of displays.

Excellent, thanks so much for your replies guys, I really appreciate it, hopefully I'll have my setup up and running in a month or so. I'm currently waiting for my mates business to get the monitors in stock (that way I can get them alot cheaper). I'll have a look through the forums and see what adapters are recommended. Thanks again!
