I read somewhere, EyeFinity only works with digital signals, such as DVI, but I would like to use 3 display via VGA. So my question is, can I connect 3 monitors via VGA, to a 5770 and use EyeFinity under Windows 7 ? Will it merge my monitors to a 3840x1024 display ? Thanks in advance. |

im afraid not mate. eyefinity on the 5770 would need to incorporate 2xdvi with the Displayport using an active dvi - displayport adapter. you could use a VGA to DVI adapter then use that to connect to Active Displayport adapter! Im sure i have seen people running that way. Also all screens need to have the same res. Ta. |

Not strictly speaking correct. I'm sure we've had members use a DisplayPort-to-VGA adaptor and DVI-to-VGA adaptors with success. |

Most poeple tend to have better luck getting these DP>VGA adaptors working than they do for DP>DVI. DVI>VGA adaptors are also known to have proven them selfs as working very well. So you would require 2x DVI>VGA + 1x DP>VGA adaptors, the DP>VGA adaptors are also quite cheap ~£15 to ~£20 for mini-DP>VGA. |

this applies to the 6950 (sapphire) maybe its the same with other brands and models of the 2 dvi outputs only 1 is dvi-i the other is dvi-d, meaning that only 1 vga monitor is supported learned that the hard way only 1 vga monitor but only 1 dvi cable ;) |

I hope you don't mind me jumping onto this thread, but my situation is quite similar: MSI 5770 Hawk. According to the manual, it has: * display port * HDMI port * DVI-I port (HDMI supported, HDCP supported, dual link DVI-I output supported) My only crt is connected to DVI via DVI->VGA adapter. I have another 2 old screens standing around, but if I got it right, the best I can hope for is to connect one more via DP port !? You would recommend a direct DP->VGA adapter ? I reckon DP->DVI and then DVI->VGA is suboptimal (if it works at all). Does any of the supported DVI things help me in any way ? Thank you in advance. |
