I have three projectors (1280x800) set up for Eyefinity, but only have three options for resolutions (e.g. 4800x1200.). None of the options is for a wide screen resolution. Is it possible to force the native resolution of the projectors (3840x800) for the clearest picture?

I have a 5870 video card with 2 dvi, 1 dp, 1 hdmi.
All of my projectors are connected through vga.
Presently have 1 projector connected to displayport with vga passive adapter and 2 projectors connected to the dvi inputs with vga adapters.

Also tried eyefinity with just 2 projectors connected through dvi-vga and still can't force the native resolution (2560x800).

My projectors are identical with the following connections: HDMI, VGA, component

Hopefully there is a way to get the proper resolution because I have to use 4800x1200 and the picture quality is degraded.

Thanks

i could be wrong as i dont have an eyefinity setup, but from what i read here i was under the impression you "had" to use all digital connections. ive seen many people post about how they use 2x dvi and 1x dp to get things working.

might be the case, ill let someone more knowledgeable chime in, but thats what i understood

I don't think the high resolution is the problem because I am able to get 4800x1200.

i am also able to get all three projectors working in clone mode at resolutions of 1280x800; just not able to get 3840x800.

I would be willing to buy DVI to HDMI cables if I know it would work, and active dp adapter if necessary.

An active adapter is absolutely necessary, no wonder you have problems

Got this to work with 2 dvi to hdmi cables and a passive dp to vga adapter. Can now get a resolution of 3840x800.

Only problem is, I have to unplug the dp adapter and then plug it in again each time before running an eyefinity resolution. Maybe I'll try it with an active dp adapter.

all mini DP - VGA adapters are active.

you cannot take a digital signal and turn it into an analogue signal without some form of processing. Every DP - VGA adapter is active.
