As the topic says :) I just wanted to take it up since it's a big concern really. I just can't see why we shouldn't be able to upgrade like any other poor sod out there.

We have been stuck with the damn 182.50 drivers since they released kinda lame in my opinion.

And is it on matrox side, nvidia or both not working well together or what? If it's nvidia do they even know about it themself's? My guess matrox is aware of it.

I don't wanna be a bi*** about it but as a customer it really stopped for me after the 182.50.

I'm running the 190.56 drivers with TH2GO at 5040x1050 (GTX 285). In fact, I *couldn't* get the 182.50 drivers to work.

The link to the 190.56 drivers was on another thread here. They're basically an OpenGL 3.0 development branch off nVidia's driver line.

As far as I know the latest driver are made for game developers, since there are no OpenGL 3.0 games outside, right? So why updating anyway? The latest drivers are not allways the best and I dont want to be a beta tester.

Even without it being th2g related and perhaps because my cards are a couple revisions old but to me no driver past 17x.x or so has brought anything major. And they're up to 190.x now.

About the only thing they added is 'multi-monitor sli' and that's about pointless since beyond saying sli is enabled on both monitor, in actual performance, it's the same hit as before.

Yeah I got 2x 285 cards using 182.50 drivers suck ass compared to my mate's similar setup playing other games in sli mode.

I think I did try something that was not the official nvidia drivers but ended up sitting for a whole 2 hours just to revert back to the 182.50. In my opinion again we should just be able to download clicky and boom new drivers and 5040x1050 display resolution and no fuss.

Lots of new game fixes and performance increases. Ambiant Occlusion is likely the only feature you are missing.
Basically, the PC game scene revolves around New Game = New Driver required (bugs, performance, both). Your are most definitely at a disadvantage being stuck months behind the mainstream.

Waveztream: Remember if he's playing on a single screen he's probably at a lot lower res, and a lot narrower FOV, and that WILL give him a massive performance advantage over you.

You can't compare 1920x1080 @ 65FOV with 5040x1050 @ 145FOV. You're comparing apples to ... something very NOT apple'ish, like a firetruck. :D
