just an update for you guys. after emailing Matrox a couple of times about the issues - its the Acer Panels scaling to incorrect resolution.
so nothing can be done about this issue.

so i have to go about selling them to find some other monitors that work in 5040.

im just not going to be happy with 1440x900 when i know that 1680x1050 is available

i just hoping not to lose money on all this :(

Iam very sorry to hear your monitors do not work at full resolution. But thank you for the update. Me and Iam sure many others will find this information very very valuable.
