at what step you got stack ?

if you set your wizard to 1 display @ 1680x1050 you should be ok... then you set your custom res - the refresh rate is the key and it is very important, try 59.4Hz

Just a quick question. When you create the custom display and hit test, it failed on me. That stumped me, and wasnt sure what to do then. Did it save? From what I remember (I've slept since last year lol) I think I rebooted then followed the rest of the directions, and somehow got it working. It seemed like it took me two or three times messing with the res and powerdesk before something happened and it worked. Doubt I could recreate the exact sequence again dangit lol.

Edit: Nice choice of monitors :)

I am still able to get custom res of 5040, but I keep getting the black bar down the left hand side of each monitor. I know the native res of my monitors is 1680 so why am I getting these black borders? Has anyone else had this problem and know of a fix? Auto adjustment does nothing. I can't tell you how annoying this is. I am very close to launching my monitors out of the (closed) window.

I tried all freqs in steps of 100 starting at 58. Half of the rsolutions work and half do not. But every freq has this black border, which means that it cannot be 5040 / 1050 even though nvidia states that it is.

Hi,

Having been looking for a solution for weeks I am pleased to say that this worked for me out of the box with all the latest drivers. The magic vertical refresh rate for me was 59.454 @ 5040 x 1050 and 4320 x 900 worked at the standard 60Hz.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
nVidia driver version 196.21
Matrox TH2Go Firmware THD_v2.3.40.t6.56
Matrox PowerDesk v64_gxm-veos_2_06_00_026_whql

Other hardware as signature.

Brilliant - thanks for the solution.

There was another thread out there asking who has 5040x1050 working and what there configuration was so that others could compare it.

Maybe we should start a thread stating what vertical refresh worked for us so others can start with those numbers first in case there is a commonality.

My configuration:

Nvidia 8800GTX SLI, CPU Q6600 Quad Core, Windows 7 64 bit
VERTICAL REFRESH RATE: 59.500 with Matrox TH2GO
VERTICAL REFRESH RATE: 59.400 with Mviewer box

Maybe this will help others as we add our numbers.
