Hi,

i'm new here, and I have the same problem with my 3 Samsung 2443B: 1680x1050 doesn't work. But it's even worse. The monitors will shut down after some seconds and nothing( waiting, pressing menue) helps. But I've found something strange; when I press Info on the OSD it shows:

1680 X 1050 @ 48Hz and not 57Hz

Can anybody take a look which frequency Triplehead2Go-Digital really generates?

regards

I suppose if a monitor can't do 57 Hz, you shouldn't rely too much on what its OSD says when you try to use that refresh rate...

Hi,

I've sent an email to Matrox and told them about our problem and I've received an interesting answer:

Hi Klaus,
It seems as though the problem actually lies within the Nvidia drivers and Vista and not the monitors.

Until Nvidia releases new Vista drivers for your card you will not be able to use it with our unit.

Best Regards,

Emanuele

Maybe we should all send mails to Nvidia :?:

I just got my TH2G today. What a treat. After mucking around a bit and being confuzzled by a few things, I can say I absolutely love it. It even came with the latest firmware installed. Score 1 for Matrox/Newegg.

Unfortunately, I can't run at a full 5040x1050@57. I run 2 Westinghouse LCM-22W2's and 1 Westinghouse LCM-22W3. The 22W3 is the center monitor. The highest rez I can get to is 4320x900 as per the windows display properties slider.

When I start any games that haven't been configured, they load up on the left monitor, but after changing the game's rez to match the desktop rez, it switches to use the full 3 screens.

This is on Vista64 Ultimate with a 8800GTX.

Hope that helps anyone that has their eye on these particular Westinghouse models. I got them cheap at seperate times, but I plan to sell them and get 3 new lcd's that can support the 5040 rez..... once I get more hours at work, or get a new job that'll actually give me hours.

vincegun, hold your horses ! You are not really telling us whether each monitor model can do 1680x1050@57Hz or not. :? Can you disconnect the TH2G and test this custom res on each one ?

Once you've done that, you can try creating the custom res of 5040x1050@57Hz. Getting it to work under Vista64 may require some effort, as seen in the other threads around - but that doesn't mean your panels are to blame !

Actually, when I used them before I got the box all I could find was the option to use 60 or 59 via the monitor's display properties. If I could force something other than that, it's beyond me.

Creating a custom rez isn't something I've done before and you'll have to forgive me for not dredging through every top thread in every forum section. Could you link me to any pages detailing how to create a custom resolution? I'd love to help you all out with finding any info I could have missed and in effect, help myself as well.

I don't have any horses to hold, either.

I lose......

Oke, you have a 9800GTX right? Then you have a NVIDIA card? This is an old article about custom resolutions, with the old panel. If you can find this for the new one, then you can set it 1680x1050@57Hz If the panel works with that resolution and Hz, then there is somewhere else the problem. The post you wanna read are the sticky in the Surround Section
