My screens go black whenever I try to change resolution from 3840*1024 to 5040*1050, although both my NVidia Control Panel have this resolution (custom) as well as the Matrox compatibility test. This is the same for both for my desktop, FSX and Eve Online.
I have just purchased Matrox TH2Go Digital Edition and of course want to use the highest resolution. My specs are:
Windows XP SP3
3 22" ASUS VW222U Monitors
NVidia GTX280
DVI Dual Link cable
Latest drivers and firmware.

I have corresponded with Matrox support several times, which led to an update of my firmware, and countless uninstalling and reinstalling of my GXM software, but still no go.
I have also tried with NVidia drivers 177.41, 177.92 and now 178.13.

Matrox seems to have given up now, so can anybody help?

Thanks
Michael

Hi there.

Isn't there an issue with Asus monitors and the refresh rates they support? ie: 57hz

That might be it of course. Just weird though that both GXM test and NVidia shows this resolution as viable.
And another thing, I think its sad that Matrox makes new higher resolutions available only for some monitors. Investing in 3 monitors is not something you do every month or everytime Matrox releases a new resolution for this product :?

It's not something Matrox have control over...57Hz is non-standard, but if it's in your monitor's spec then it should work. If it's in the spec and it doesn't work then you should take it up with Asus (though it's extremely doubtful they'll do anything).

Providing 5040 x 1050 @ 57 Hz was a technical necessity. 57 Hz is needed to make 5040x1050 work, so it was either get that resolution (albeit limited to certain monitors) or not make it available at all.

I fully admit that my comment on Matrox and resolutions are purely based on my lack of technical knowledge in this area, and no rant was intended.

I still enjoy my 3840*1024 nonetheless :D

Seems that I have a similar problem. I have MS Vista, a GTX260 graphic card and have now bought the TH2Go Digital.

I had my 22" center monitor which is a HP W2207 and needed 2 side monitors and bought Ausu VW222U.

First I couldn´t get the 5040x1050 in the GXM to work but after several attempts I found out (after searching this forum) that it could be the nVidia drivers and I rolled back to the oldest driver compatible with my graphis card which is the 177.35 and voila I have the 5040x1050@57Hz resolution.

Unfortunately when switching to 5040x1050 only the center monitor (HP2207) shows a picture - the 2 side monitors (Asus222U) goes black.

When I choose another widescreen (not native) resoultion e.g. 4320x900@60Hz I get pictures on all 3 monitors.

Does this mean that I have wasted 450 Euro on 2 Ausu monitors or is there anything I can do except buy to other monitors ?

I'm sure the problem with you guys is that the monitor just don't work with the 57hz refreshrate.

I tried 2 set of budget 24" LCD and they work but I just got a BenQ g2400wd

and the screen goes blank when I switch to 5040x1050 :(

sucks as that was the more expensive monitor and I"m force to keep it.
