Decided to finally jump in and get my TH2Go setup. Having some trouble trying to decide on what kind of monitor to get though.. Currently looking at the Samsung 2333SW or the 2443BW.

Clearly a lot of users are using 24" monitors that run at 1920x1200.. Im just wondering how you guys and gals find the picture quality of running a 1680x1050 image on them?

Im really leaning towards the 2333SW due to the price diffrence between them, but the bezzel seems quite a bit wider than the 2443BWs.. If the picture quality is clean and clear id be willing to shell out the extra cash for it.

It'll depend a lot on the individual and the screen.

I don't have problems running games at non-native resolutions on my 2405, but I can't stand the Windows desktop when at non-native - it looks horrible.

Thanks for the heads up. Clearly im more worried about the gaming quality than the desktop.. but still if you have to look at the desktop you dont want stare at something that looks unnatural or unpleasent.

generally in games you get less time to look at the imperfections in the picture :) if your watching slow moving or stationary parts you can start to be over critical and spot faults :P

Hi

I suggest the 1920x1200, because it is 16:10. That gives you the same aspect as 1680x1050. This will keep your screens from looking stretched in 3x1680x1050.

In order to maintain 16:9, you have to use 3x1366x768.

Just something to keep in mind.

As mentioned above. It's really dependent upon the user and the display's internal scaler quality. I've used Samsung 245BW for a over year now with 5040x1050 both SoftTH and TH2G Digital. The only reason why I remember it's non-native is because I know the hardware specs. I can't really tell much difference in the crispness on my 245BWs.

Perfect advice.. I wasnt sure which one was also 16:10 and 16:9.. That crosses out the 2333SW.

And that basically answered any remaining concerns.. I dont mind a slight drop in detail, even if its just slightly visable. Done! Ill grab myself a trio of 2443BW's this friday and be over with it ;)

Thanks for the advice guys.

Possibly Sir Drip, but I just finished installing mine.. even at 3840x1024 im rather happy with the quality (considering I was worried how it would look at 5040x1050).

Rig all setup just getting new drivers etc :) Cant damn well wait to start playing now.

Hey...wait a minute... What displays did you get? Are they in the "Known working list? can you obtain the 5040x1050 resolution?
