Yes.. A hatchback (I think you lot across the pond call it a 'top-hinged tailgate')

I was pretty myth'ed by the way some games just DON'T flat out go well with the TH2GO..

Being stubborn to the bone and a sucker for punishment I took my TIG out and decided to butcher my already well made DIY stand....

Here it is before the hack slash and welding...

OK take 1 auto door shutting hinge... Some old scrap and a few screws.. About 10 Liters of Argashield and some choice welding rods.. Strike up a cheap copy Chinese TIG from eblag.co.uk....

And let the 'Wing-it' inspiration flow and you get something like this...

Only paint I have is MATT black as it used for MANY MANY applications in my life and you get something quite menacing

Place it on afore seen desktop and you have...

Note the dark looming menace ready to strike above...

Yes.... And I have room to upgrade to 24" :)

It woks by pulling lever in direction indicated to release...

Lower gently down (My arms are not that fat.. it's the optics you see)

I like it...

Game don't like TH2GO... Well double click the switch desktop icon.. release trigger and play away...

No I do not have PLANS.. It came from the recesses of my head and now lost in the mix of Beer and Tequila. Sorry..

( Not sure it should be in this section.. Please feel free to move.. I won't come after you Honest!! )

That is pure ownage rained down from upon oh so very high.

Nice job.

Would be good if it moved down in a sorta sliding fashion whereby you didn't have to see the bottom.

Regardless, I love it.

I would like to have.. May have been easier

What's not so obvious with the pic is the stand is in an attic room and the wall behind tilts forward 45 degrees why it's angled as it is...

Maybe try someting else for v2.. Need to do a few mods to this now it's kind working...

That's a spring hinge right?

Aren't you worried about the spring wearing out?

Is there suddenly a danger of spring extinction on the horizon? I did a google news search on "Spring Extinction" but got zero (0) hits. I guess that means there won't be a shortage of springs to replace a worn one with. We can all relax again.

Carry on with the thread please.

Jonny its the death of the spring not the extinction that will cause problems, ex the thing swinging down by itself at a high velocity and imbedding itself in a screen.

What I was referring to is if it starts to wear, I don't think it would be hard to replace, as springs are not exactly scarce.

Unless of course you are saying that a spring does not show signs of it wearing out until it just suddenly "coils up and dies" and hence gives way and takes out the three lower screens without warning. Least he still has the widescreen one left to surf these forums on.

Spring is detached.

Only used it as I didn't fancy making a hinge... :)

As for wearing out.. It don't get that much use tbh.. JUst BF2 and widescreen pr0n...
