I know I know. If you are getting an ATI 5850 why are worried about an a triplehead. I've got 2 setups sharing 3 monitors. Yes I know ATI has its new eyefinity which looks fantastic. However one setup is complete an running a 9500GT and the other is still in its beginning stages. I've come across a couple of free DVI flip switches to help me change displays and such. Question I have is for the folks that have not switched to eyefinitey just yet. Can I still run an ATI 5850 (3x1440x900) using a triplehead? I've heard some stories that the 2 do not get along. Anybody on this forum have any experiences? |

Yup I originally had 8800GT SLi w/ my TH2G digital, and I upgraded my graphics card to a 5850 by HIS. I'm running windows 7, and right now my max resolution is 1280x1024x3. When I had that resolution I had distortion when using the top DVI. However the bottom DVI was fine (read somewhere there is a bios voltage issue w/ very high resolutions on amd forums I think). Yes I could buy a display port adapter, but why? Everything seems to rock and I already have this TH2G. Trying to get higher resolutions though have been a pain, but overall "Does it work" is a yes. |

What about higher Resolutions like 5040x1050? |

What about higher Resolutions like 5040x1050? right now my max resolution is 1280x1024x3 Sorry I'm still fighting it, but I can't find a method to add custom resolutions like how nvidia can (I hate the new CCC software) The matrox software bombs out. I have been thinking of getting the DP adapter, as I think Eyefinity would do it, and try modding the registry for mid range resolutions like the one I'm running now. But Crysis on 1280x1024x3 is still sexy. |

Did you try creating a EDID mask? http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=17635 |

Did you try creating a EDID mask? The software won't let me hit the enter values for the larger 4320x900 or 5040x1050 resolutions. It caps out at annoying settings |

Hi did you ever manage to sort this. I can't get 5040x1050 with my ATI 5850 and TH2GO Digital. Was easy with an Nvidia Card. I have all latest drivers and bios. |

Unfortunately no. I eventually saved up enough to buy a certified adapter off of Amazon. The TH2G sits in my closet for now. |

Tsusai, Being a longtime NVIDIA user looking to grab a 5850, your thread caught my attention. Do I understand you correctly that your ATI card handled 3840x1024 just fine with the TH2Go, but 5040x1050 didn't work? I'm looking to swap out my 8800GTS for a 5850 and want to be sure my TH setup will still run fine @ 3840x1024. |
