I've had another go at getting BFBC2 working in DX10 mode since getting my new OS and drivers (Server 2008 r2 and nVIDIA 197.13) up and running. This thread http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=17302&start=45 shows my TH2GO settings, I entered the settings below into BC2;
Code:
Width=5040
   Height=1050
   Fullscreen=true
   RefreshRate=60.001
   DxVersion=10

and fired her up. As before, my screens flickered a few times and the OSD came up telling me about to change to the correct resolution. The menu looked stretched and I assumed that it had switched to 3840 (which it used to do). Also, the game thought the mouse was somewhere other than where the pointer was (offset horizontally). Despite the mouse problem, I navigated into a server and low and behold, the graphics no longer looked stretched. I ran around for a bit and took a screenshot as below.

The screenshot is 5040x1050 and looks good to me! You can see the bloom around the lamp post confirming that DX10 is working and the dimensions all look to be in the right scale!

My question is: If it is running at 5040, why am I getting an OSD? Also, Is there any way to fix the mouse behaviour? It is very annoying and difficult to select anything without knowing where the pointer is. Finally, why does the menu look stretched as though it were displaying in 3840 and being scaled by the LCDs?

I'm pretty excited and gonna play using these settings tonight...

Just played for 2 hrs switching between DX9 & 10 and taking lots of screenshots. I don't really know how to explain this but here goes...

What I see on my monitors is not what is shown in the screenshots :S During play, everything looks more blurred than it does in the screenshots which look perfect. For example, the numbers showing distance to the conquest objectives look blurry in DX10 mode to the point that you can barely make out the complex numbers like 5, 8 etc but they don't look blurry at all in the screenshots??? Its really confusing...

If I stay stationary and switch from fullscreen to windowed and back using alt+tab the difference is crystal clear but if I take screenshots in the same fashion they look identical!!!

Even my steam chat overlay loks 'blurry' in DX10 mode but its screenshot looks fine!!! Please, before someone suggests that its not at the monitors native resolution , all of the screenshots are 5040 pixels wide!

If I was to try and explain what is happening, it looks like the screenshots are being rendered at 5040x1050 but are then downsampled to some lower resolution and back upsampled for display on the monitor. That makes absolutely no sense to me but its what it seems like.

CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT!!!

THX
