Hey guys, I love my Acer H5360 projector. I have had it for a few months now and it was one of my best investments. I just bought a Playstation 3 because it has a blu-ray player, play games, and it supports 3D. My projector is 3D and the PS3 supports 3D so I figured I would get some glasses and test out the 3D but sadly it's not that easy. I posted on the Playstation forum about this topic and from what I understand is that I need a piece of hardware that converts the 3D from the PS3 to the projector. The Optoma 3D-XL Converter. Here is a link to the thread about 3D on Playstation forums. I don't have that much experience with 3D and I figured I would get a second opinion. Do I need this converter box to view 3D content from my PS3 to my projector?

From what I understand the PS3 S3D is not a 120hz HDMI 1.3 S2D, but rather the side-by-side HDMI 1.4a S3D format like Blu-ray is. There are a few converters out there that'll make a 120hz HDMI 1.3 S2D projector HDMI 1.4a S3D compatible. The box you mentioned is one option. There are a few other third party converter boxes, but I've not researched them out yet. Another option is there is a new H5360BD projector available that replaces the original H5360 and has the new HDMI 1.4a S3D capability built in.

There is also a thread here on the H5360BD. Its a very good forum about A/V equipment.

It would be cheaper for me to get the 3D-XL adapter instead of getting the new version of Acer H5360BD. Also is the H5360BD released yet?

No idea if it's released yet. I just know they've been talking about it for about 6 months now.
