Post subject:  Optoma HD 20 for PS3

I've been considering getting a projector for playing my PS3 games on guys, the Optoma HD20 is looking really good but I'm wondering about refresh rates. Am I going to be seeing tearing on the image because the projector can't keep up with the game? I've seen it mentioned in reviews for the other projectors that I was looking at. The horizontal and vertical refresh rates listed at Newegg.com are like this

Horizontal Refresh Rate
15.3 to 91.1 KHz

Vertical Refresh Rate
24 to 85 Hz

Will this be sufficient? I may or may not also use this as a secondary PC monitor for gaming (for those games that don't support surround gaming anyway.

Hmm... I've never thought of that. Well there are PS3 games that do do vSync (Notably Saints Row 2), but if I'm correct, the PS3 only outputs 60Hz and 85Hz is much more than that, so, I doubt you'll see that.

Your not going to have any problems I am pretty sure you can run it at a standard 60Hz and the range of refresh rates is just to let you know it supports them without some sort of out of range error.

Post subject:  I'd be more worried about

I'd be more worried about input lag than tearing. Some TVs and projectors have signal processing for scalers that induce input lag into the display. I have no experience with the HD20, so no idea though.
