Let's revive a dead thread. I wound up buying one Dell 19 inch (1907FP I think) to see how it compared to my 2405FPW.

My intent was to buy 3 of them and the digital triple head for some widescreen fun. But when I compared the pic of the 18 inch 4:3 monitor vs my 24 16:9 monitor, I hated it. I wound up selling off the 19" and never going with triplehead.

Some people told me that going with 3 20" Dells instead of 3 19's would give me the smooth picture I was looking for, but the cost was prohibitive. When you bump up that 1 inch from 19 to a 20, you are talking about another $200 per monitor for $600 total.

Did any of you ever get the digital triple head for WoW? If so please post a picture of your setup in game!

Been playing wow since beta,I enjoy it alot, play almost everyday.avid pvp player.
I've been looking(drooling over;p)at surround gaming set ups for a long time, and finaly picked up a Digital TH2GO when they were released last July.

I couldnt wait to try WOW with triple head,I use 3x 24" Dells, which scale well(imo) and used 3840x1280 res.

I tried wow before any other game ,and while being initially pleased for a few minutes,I couldn't take the (severely) cut down fov.

I so wanted to play wow in triple head, but just can't get past the horrible fov, especially when indoors like a dungeon, the constant zooming in and out makes it unbearable, with little or no perspective advantage(relatively speaking)

I beg and plead for a proper fov fix/hack for wow,it's a game worthy to be seen in 3 screen glory.

I play WoW regularly with TH2Go and find that yes, the FOV problems can be annoying, but they are outweighed by the true grandeur of the view over three screens. Flying or playing in the outdoors is absolutely STUNNING. I play at 3840x1024 with all settings at max and the frames are smooth as butter. Even in Shatt, I'm getting in the mid 50's on a 7800GTX SLI.

Instances are the worst part as they are indoors... but as I'm a tank, I'm usually focusing on my rage, who has aggro, etc. so I don't find it unbearable. Just got used to it I guess.

Kinesis is correct though; we REALLY need a fix for this.

Hey Mark B: Are you all speaking with Blizzard about getting this fixed? Matrox features WoW prominently in the promotion of the TH2Go but it really is broken with Wow.

Can you chime in on this?

thanks!

Wazoo

I'm a WoWaholic myself, so indeed we're pushing as hard as we can. ;)

Blizzard did patch the game from a state of not even supporting 3840x1024 to at least supporting the res back in 2006, so this was a first big step.

As for the FOV, it's been difficult but we're not giving up. WoW isn't going away anytime soon, and the Th2Go is only getting more popular - so there may indeed be light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks for the replies, I hope we get that fixed, it would merit another look at going with triplehead.

The issues I have with what you said were 3X24 inch widescreens. That is going to give you a stretched image. I wouldn't want to play with that, everybody is going to look short and fat. Sure you could probably train yourself to get used to the look of it, but then you are "settling".

3X 4:3 aspect ratio monitors would be ideal, but the biggest problem is the industry is getting away from 4:3 monitors as a whole (not that this is a bad thing overall, just bad for triplehead). This makes picking up something like 3 20 inch non widescreen monitors a very expensive prospect, unless you get lucky and find some closeout deals somewhere.

Attog, both the Digital and Analogue TripleHead2Go products offer triple widescreen resolutions so that you can game on three widescreens without distorting 4:3 or 5:4 resolutions onto 16:10 monitors.

Check out the available resolutions in this thread.

No, that's wrong for the Analog Triplehead. From the post you refer to it clearly says so.

The TripleHead2Go Analog Edition does not do 16:10 resolutions ...
The only widescreen resolutions it does do are ...

3840x720 (triple 1280x720) 60Hz ... 3 x 16:9
and
3840x768 (triple 1280x768) 60Hz ... 3 x 15:9

So you will have a distorted image whatever you do if you use 16:10 monitors.

I said you won't distort 4:3 or 5:4 onto 16:10. What you get with the Analogue TripleHead2Go is 16:9 or 15:9 distorted onto 16:10, which is much better (but admittedly not ideal). Look at the bottom post in that thread for the full list of resolutions.

The thing that I find interesting is that the images in the links above do appear to have a changed fov. Is my mind telling me I'm seeing something I'm not?

any news on hor+ support in the new big patches that are on PTR and beta-realms?

dreaming of a 3xWS TH2Go setup, but the game I play most is WoW, so it would be a waste without proper +hor support :(
