I think it's because he's using 8800's which I've seen people mention allow for resolutions over the 4096 width limit. I think on the 7 series and earlier might have been a video card hardware limit. In the SoftTH thread someone mentioned some pretty big width resolutions using 8800's.

Which OS and video card drivers are being used?

Its DX10 envierment that allows 8096 × 8096 and since 8000 series are the only cards to support DX10 that is why he is able to do it.

We did this in Windows XP, we could not get 3D to display across it when it was set at 6x1 because of that width limit, but Google Earth did work when I put in a 3x2 configuration.

@ JKeefe- They want 3D rendered across all the displays, not necessarily games, but definitely Google Earth and Celestia.
Google Earth is 3D?

Celestia, while technically not a game, fits into that category for this discussion, so I see why you want to do it this way.

Would be interested in seeing your 8800 and how it handles 2. I have 2 8800GTS 320's in my system. Wonder if Vista + 8800 = horizontal span ability with the 2. 6 projectors doing ~360 degrees sounds very cool. I have 3 projectors atm.

Yeah I'd really like to get my hands on the 6 projectors too. :)

I'm not sure if the option to span displays is in Vista yet, all I see is Single, Clone and Dualview, but it might because I'm using displays with different resolutions.
