[quote]Everything is stock, I've made no changes to the ini files. Any recommendations as to what values to try?

I'd try starting off in the 500 range, adjust in either direction to see what differences they make, then test to find the sweet spot.

Same goes for fDefaultFov to adjust the zoom on the picking, 180 is perfect for 5760 wide so I imagine for a portrait setup it will be less.

Wish I could test better for you, planning on getting some cheap stands so all my monitors can pivot one day. And if the changes do nothing see some of the previous posts for solutions.

I tried setting iSafeZoneXWide and iSafeZoneX anywhere from 5 to 800, didn't seem to make any difference at all in game when it comes to lockpicking :(

The isafezone lines have no effect on lockpicking, it seems. My lockpicking FOV has been all over teh placeduring these tweaks, so i stopped worrying about it. You don;t really need a proper FOV anyways.

Well my terminals are messed up again.
They were fine, but now are back to being too big and impossible to exit out of (switch is below screen).

I have Steam Cloud disabled, haven't made any changes to my game. No idea why it stuck for a while only to mess up again.
I sure hope Beth/Steam are looking into this.

Well I can't pick locks at all :p The bobby pin is stuck to the far right. So opening any locks is devolved into a series of rapid F9-E-F until lock opens :lol:

Could be a problem with the mouse acceleration, the sensitivity was VERY different for me as well in-game/menus, until I added the same command lines for turning mouse acceleration off, just like in Fallout 3.

Add these in Fallout_default.ini (Steam/steamapps/common/fallout new vegas) under the [Controls] section, if you haven't tried it already:

fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0
fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0
fForegroundMouseBase=0
fForegroundMouseMult=0

If that doesn't solve it, try disabling V-Sync in the same INI file by changing "iPresentInterval=1" to "iPresentInterval=0", just like in Fallout 3, the tick box in the launcher for V-Sync does not work.

The first part of this solution worked great for me, didn't even notice it wasn't bugging me until I got out of the game and thought 'hey yeah, that fix worked great!'.

So thanks. I owe you one. :cheers

Make sure you're adding the changes to Fallout_default.ini in your Steam folder: (Steam/steamapps/common/fallout new vegas). I was only doing the two in under My Games and it wasn't working for me either, now its fine, just the text is hard to read.

I must thank you all for contributing to my final set up @ 5040x1050

solved my pitboy text by changing :

fPipboy1stPersonFOV=75.0
fDefault1stPersonFOV=75.0000
------------
widescreen setup for health & direction indicator:

bEnableEyefinity=0
iSafeZoneXWide=770
iSafeZoneYWide=15
iSafeZoneX=770
iSafeZoneY=15
fDefaultFOV=120
-------------
for terminals:
fRenderedTerminalZoom=36

------------
now back to the game :wink:

Interestingly, I can't even start the game at all if I set bEnableEyefinity=0. My resolution is 3600 x 1920.

No problem! If it's one thing I can't stand in games, it's things like this! Glad I could help! :D
