After getting a 7900GT and installing the latest nVidia drivers, 91.31, I seem to have lost the ability to selecting triplehead resolutions in the config utility for rFactor. If anyone has rFactor and can help and/or tell me how to manually input a game resolution, I'd be happy to hear it.

Hi jkeefe,

Look for a file called config.ini in the rFactor directory.

There should be a line in there called videomode=XXX

For the X's you need to enter one of these numbers

2400x600 = 133
3072x768 = 134
3840x1024 = 135

This should give you back your resolutions.

Thanks, Richie.

When I opened config.ini it said VideoMode=0 I changed it to =134, saved and closed, and restared the config app. Still no triplehead available. So then I realized that maybe I should just set the config and leave it, so I returned to config.ini, entered VideoMode=134, saved and closed, and started rFactor. It was running at 1280x1024.

You're defintiely onto something, though. :) Any more ideas?

Hi Jkeefe,

In that file what are the

MinimumVidRes and MaximumVidRes set to?

Mine are as follows

MinimumVidRes=(800, 600)
MaximumVidRes=(8000, 6000)

Hi JKeefe,

I just noticed that the Video Modes changed.

Try setting VideoMode to 147 and make sure that FSAA is off.

Will try 147 when I get home.

FSAA off in the config program, config.ini, or my video drivers?

And why off? I don't want it off. :)

Hi JKeefe,

To go back to my previous post, the numbers have changed because I have added the extra widescreen modes. Do you have these modes installed? If not then you do not need to change the number.

As for FSAA, on my system the game will not start with FSAA on for some reason (even without TH2Go). Make sure in the config.ini it's set to 0.

Are you also choosing 3072x768 16bit or 32bit ?

Last question :-) Where did you get the 91.31 drivers from? I could only find the 84.21 from Nvidia's site.

Hi RichieG,

There you go:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_91.31.html :)

I had all sorts of troubles with these newer drivers, so I went back to 84.21... :?

Hi MatroxRulez,

It's funny, when I go through the regular routine I am still brought to the 84.21 drivers ????

Thanks for the link :-)
