Hi Guys

I need a simple ‘yes or ‘no’ answer to my questions if that is possible – just ordered a new computer and it comes complete with a Dell UltraSharp 1907FP 19-inch Black Flat Panel LCD as standard.

Option 1 - Now the questions, it seems you can use a 20.1 inch widescreen monitor in the centre and two 19 inch at the sides, but it causes some problems and is not generally recommended?

Option 2 - Would I be best to purchase two identical dell monitors (UltraSharp 1907FP 19-inch Black Flat Panel LCDs)?

Option 3 – Or should I consider buying a Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" widescreen LCD Flat monitor?

Option 4 - Should i look into buying three Dell UltraSharpâ„¢ 2007WFP 20.1" Widescreen LCD's? - Or is the resolution comprimised?

All suggestions and recommendations are welcomed – although please try and keep the jargon to a minimal as I cannot understand half of what you guys are saying.

Thanks in advance

Lea

My comments:
1)
Option 1 - Not recommened
Option 2 - yes, I recommend this
Option 3 - good alternative if you dont want to use TH2G for 3 monitors
Option 4 - Not recommended

2) It is best to have 3 identical monitors (not just size but also the brand) to achieve best overall consistent image quality and performance across them. So, forget option 1

3) If you use three 2007WFPs, its native resolution of 1680 x 1050 is not supported by TH2G (which supports triple 1280 x 768 or triple 1280 x 720). If it is not supported, then image quality will be compromised to a certain extent.
So, forget option 4

4) If you dont use TH2G for 3 monitors and opt for a single monitor, 2407 is a good choice. Hence, option 3 is ok.

5) For 3 identical Dell 1907FP, you can set them up with each monitor at their native resolution of 1280 x 1024 and this is the max resolution supported by TH2G. You have same response time, color quality and screen resolution across. This is the best option.

Thanks for the reply!

Finding it very diffcult to decide on what to do

Narrowed it down to the following:

1. Either a 24" dell widescreen - single monitor.
2. Another two additonal 19" monitors and have tripehead2go

Cost wise, not that different - but would give me the best playing experience?

Help :?

Cheers

Lea

Triplehead is oh so much more fun than a single monitor. :)

But will it really enhance my gaming that much from a 24" widescreen monitor?

I don't know - that's why I am asking, because I don't want to purchase a single monitor and find I should have gone for three

Decisions!!!

I've done some gaming in "faux surround" (check my sig). I've got a Dell 3007WFP, and I *SO* want a TH2Go setup. Surround looks that much cooler, IMHO.

Three 19" monitors with TH2G vs. Single 24"/30" monitor

I think this depends on what kind of games you play most. If you play strategy games like Age of Empire or SimCity, then a single large monitor makes more sense.

But if your genre is shooting, then a surround setup fits better.
