Hello everyone
Like many in this forum I am also considering Matrox's Triple Head2Go for my system and I would appreciate if you could answer my questions.
Although in the beginning I thought that getting TH2G and two additional monitors would do the trick as far surround gaming is concerned, I soon realized that getting a high-performance video card would also be in order. I currently own an 256MB ATI Radeon that covers my gaming needs adequately (with only one monitor of course).
My greatest concern is that the games I normally play (BF2,BF2142) don't support widescreen resolutions and even though some people in these forums have been doing a terrific job in coming up with solutions for them, looking at the screenshots of BF2142 leaves a lot to be desired (see image stretching, unreadable text, etc).
Like someone mentioned before the game is playable but spending $1000 for 2 monitors, TH2G and a good graphics card just to get a relatively average experience is certainly unacceptable - at least in my personal opinion.
So I have two questions for you...
1. According to the video card section of this website, the best solution for TH2G would be one of Nvidia's videocards that supports aspect scaling. Would a card like that cover BF2142's lack of widescreen support? Would the result be different as compared to the screenies posted elsewhere in these forums or would I get the same "stretched" image?
2. I've been reading a number of different articles on the web that claim that Windows Vista doesn't support widescreen resolutions. Is there any truth to that claim?
Thank you in advance.
