If you look here, you could find the supported resolutions. then you could find a monitor for it.

But if you want I could give you the answer, most people have 3x 4:3 monitor (around 19' or bigger). You will get the resolution 3840x1024 @ 60 Hz (triple 1280x1024) .

But have a look around in the Surround Discussion & Solutions

You should get 3 monitors, each with a native res of 1280x1024. That usually means 19"

Im running 3 Samsung 204B 20.1" 4:3 LCD

Would you kindly tell us how well that is going for you? I am having a hard time finding good monitors with narrow bezels. I have been putting off playing Half-Life 2 Episode 2 because it natively supports triple screens, but appears to suppress TH2G's bezel management. So, wide bezels are more of a problem in this case.

Of particular interest: since this monitor's native resolution is not supported by TH2G, how is the scaling? I have often thought that, with a monitor that scales well, but still with a bit of blur, I could just turn off antialiasing and get better performance.

Thanx
Ian

Following up on my own post here, just in case anyone else gets the wrong impression from my issues...

The bezel management does indeed work find in HL2E2. I did not realise at first that I had to turn it on in the game's resolution setting, which was different than my desktop's resolution.

I did end up getting the 204B's. They are very good. They scale very well -- too well! Since there is so little blur from scaling, their anti-aliasing effect is minimal. So, traditional antialiasing is still required.

Post subject:  Question on monitors for a th2g set up .

I'm looking to finally "go surround" in the next month or two and I'm aware that the most common and ideal set up is three 1280 x 1024 screens (probably 19"). I have a single 20" 1680 x 1050 right now which works great.

Does a 1680 x 1024 in the center and a 1280 X 1024 on each side work for many games? In other words do I have to give up my single widescreen for three 5:4 monitors or is it easy to just add the two 5:4's on the sides? Some games play really nice with widescreen but not with surround and I'd hate to have to go from 1680x1050 to 1280x1024 in those cases.

Is my question as clear as mud?

I use 3 16:10 widescreens. You just have to run them scaled down (1280x800). See how well your monitor displays 1280x800. If it's clean enough for you, you can run 3840x800.
