Been lurking for a while. I decided to sign up and ask for some advice before I invest into multi-monitor gaming.

I'm leaning towards a TH2Go so that I can run any vid card I want in the future. Is there any reason I shouldnt go this route?

My understanding is that TH2Go maxes out the res at 5040x1050 correct?

I thought I read somewhere that 5040x1050 isnt supported in a version of Direct X?

How is Matrox's customer service/warranty?

I need to pick up two more additional 22" monitors, is there a noticeable difference to the eye between a 2ms and a 5ms response time?

TH2GO in my opinion is a dying technology. They don't seem interested in working on it more, and it seems like eyefinity and Nvidia surround are going to become the norm. If I were you, I would think about investing in one of the new Nvidia or ATI cards so you can use Eyefinity or Nvidia Surround. I personally use eyefinity and it's marvelous.

Matrox is still great imo, buy a DP version if possible so you can run DX10 and DX11 games without issues with 59Hz (required to run the digital version at 5040x1050).

Custome service / warranty is excellent afaik. 2ms and 5ms isnt noticeable.

DX10 isnt supported (just some games, mainly on windowed mode) at 5040x1050 with the thg digital edition.

A while back we had a poll here about whether or not people would jump ship from matrox and go the way of the video card. The poll was something like 80% for going to the video card route.

Personally, and I believe many here take this stand, the best option will be to wait a little for the GTX cards to come out to make any definitive decision.

Cards to watch out for.

E6 (5870 Eyefinity Edition)
5870
5850
GTX 460
GTX 470

These cards future proof (for now) and are on the "cutting edge" of technology.

I think I will wait and see. In the mean time I can work on getting some more monitors.

I currently have a 1680x1050 monitor, does anyone really think one should go towards a 1080p resolution/monitor?
