Hello all, I just ordered a new rig with 2x GTX570 1.2Gb mem and 3 ASUS monitors.
I ordered the stuff before someone linked me to this site.
I read a few threads and it seems that GFX memory is important for Gaming.

Should I get a card with bigger memory or is my current selection good?
BTW this rig is for BF3.

Current rig.
i7 930, MSI X58 Plat, 9GB corsair xms, Palit GTX460, Win7 64, Intel X25 120GB, PCP&C Xfire-Silencer 750W, Samung 2493HM 24"
New Rig.
i7-2600K, ASUS P8Z68-V PRO, 2x EVGA GTX570HD 1.2GB, Corsair Vengeance 8GB, Antec High Current Pro 1200W, 3x ASUS VS248H-P 24"

High graphics card memory is vital in surround resolutions. Also keep in mind that video memory doesn't stack with SLi or Crossfire so 1.2GB+1.2GB=1.2GB in this case.

Thanks for the replies.
There is a GTX570 with 2.5GB out there but it will cost me an extra $100 each.
My current 570's havent been shipped from Amazon yet and it wouldnt be an issue to change my mind now.
I just have to do some research and see if the extra $200 is worth it.

for 100$ more, would it not make sense just to go 580gtx?

GTX 580 would be $200 more each and only 1.5GB.
A 3GB model would be $270 more each.
With only a slight bump in performance over the 570.
If I was rich it wouldn't be an issue, but the 570 is definitely a better bang for the buck than the 580.

If your going SLI and are set on NVidia, get a pair of 2GB 560s, but as has been said before, 1GB of GPU memory is just not enough for a multi-monitor setup.

I'm eyeing the 2.5GB 570s myself. I'd definitely go with them over the 1.25GB ones, it's worth the extra $100/card IMO. Check out my 1GB vs. 2GB comparison for some examples of what games eat VRAM for breakfast.

Thanks for the link. Nice work on the comparison, its quite obvious how beneficial the extra memory will be now.
I just ordered the Cards from Newegg, they didnt have the best price but so far their shipping has been very fast for me.

Its pointless to benchmark vram the game will either run if you have enough or crash/run at 1 fps if you go over threshold
