"ARE YOU READY? Check back here on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. PST for a major announcement!"

http://www.facebook.com/NVIDIA

* :?: * Interesting

UPDATE: This post followed the extremely uninformative one from earlier in the day

"We want to apologize for the confusion around our most recent GF100 update. To clarify, the launch date for GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 is March 26, 2010. This date also coincides with the GeForce LAN event NVIDIA is hosting at PAX 2010. Hope you can attend the show. For more info, please visit: http://www.nvidia.com/paxeast"

EDIT: I retract my statement made in frustration after NVidia cleared up things with their later update.
I want to personally apologize for creating this thread. NVidia's "Major Announcement" was about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It was an announcement about an annoucement. WAY TO GO NVIDIA PR!

In case you missed it:

"The wait is almost over! The world's most anticipated--and fastest--PC graphics gaming
technology ever created will be unveiled at PAX 2010. Visit http://www.nvidia.com/paxeast for more information and to find out how you can compete to win a free trip to Boston!"

Yeah, hillarious, wasn't it? :lol: I seriously wonder what they're doing...

Almost all the 'activity' I see from nVidia and other sites about Fermi seems to be purely aimed at minimising the number of people who are getting sick of waiting and buying ATi cards instead. Like the Tweaktown "GTX470 will be $299!" "announcement".

While I find the fanboy arguments on other forums amusing to read at times, this nonsense is getting tedious.

Fermi has provided great laughs for all of us. As a comedian it was a huge success.

Yes its absolutely ridiculous. The more nvidia says the more i'm about to say - Fermi will be a desaster. Nevertheless I'll wait for the Fermi Release and then decide between ATI and nvidia. In a worst case scenario ATI 5XXX cards will become a little bit cheaper because of competition - good for us.

I'm very interested in 3D Vision Surround. I have an uneven Triplehead and would love to use Eyefinity or 3DVS - its not possible atm. :(

If they really are having as many problems as is rumored, I wonder if it will be next to impossible to actually buy one. Or ridiculously expensive because of a major shortage.
