I need it for watch 4k movies samples: total res would be 4800x2560 so i need card with 3x dvi dual link (hdmi1.4) (ultramon software didnt maximize anyplayers or youtube across all screens)
I have hd5770 but cant find any dualink dp adapter and spending 70$ for 10 min isnt good.
1. USED hand gtx 295 - dvi dvi hdmi1.4 but big and takes too much power 2. NEW gtx650 (the same price as used 295) but dunno if I plug 2x DVI to dual link then hdmi can be dual too? or just single? 3. any other offers?
I beleive that the nvidia cards, gtx600 series can output to 3 monitors however one of the outputs is single link dvi. Similar story for the AMD Flex edition cards.
Have you tried to use Windows Media Player 12? I just did a quick test while I am currently running in extended mode, I loaded a .mkv into it and then stretched it across all my extended screens, it happily played the video spanned across the monitors with correct aspect ratio, ie no stretching.
Note that although in the attched image there is large black borders on the sides, the video image it self does expand over 1 monitors width into the 2 side mnoitors, so with the correct res and video you would get your 4K, although admitedly not in full screen mode only windowed.
In theory you should be able to use a mxture of cards that you may have already kicking around. At least it is worth a shot trying with existing hardware before investing any money.
config i3 530 4gb p55 mobo gtx 560 se main card (1x DVI) 1x30" 9800gt (2x DVI) 2x30"
res is 1600x2560 x3 (just 3 independent screens in windows prosperities) ultramon installed and I can have special maximize button for this. Movie works but like you said "WINDOWED MODE" plus i have delays on each screen so it kills pleasure of watching this
4800x2560 as one desktop is needed
conculsion for now: 1. 260/280 sli or 295 or newer gts450? 2. 5670/5770 (dvi/hdmi/dp) + active dp @ dvi dual link active adapter 3. gtx6xx - NON TESTED YET
PS I forgot about this but loooong time I made 3x1P 3240x1920 with 5770 and active single link adapter and I didnt get any delays on screens
Problem is in monitor, I CAN'T get 2560x1600 on hdmi output, I connected hdmi via hdmi/dvi cable or hdmi/hdmi + dvi/hdmi adapter (both dual link i guess, both have all pins in plugs)
I plug it via hdmi even without rest of monitors, just one - from hdmi and the same situation.
Anyway, too bad I cant get other lcd, i am preety sure if i get dell/hp 30" 2560x1600 with hdmi I can get 4800x2560 easy
