Hello,

Current set up below.

The problem I have is that when I enable Nvidia Surround I can start a game, usually get through menus, but when I get to 3D part of game, computer just shuts off completely. Sometimes it is instant, other times it will go for maybe a minute before completely just shutting off (no freeze or error, just off, have to power back on). Looking at temperature logs, everything is cold, so not a temp problem. Everything works fine on one screen, or extend to all desktops.

I have tried:
- Remove all overclocking
- Underclock
- Format and reinstall windows 8.1
- Not use custom resolution
- Put physX on CPU

Looking for suggestion on what else I could try. I'm thinking:

- Some sort of program to check memory operation
- Reorder the cards in slots (saw this suggestion somewhere). PITA though as water loop.
- Try another motherboard, such as RIVE Black or X79 Dark

Anything else I can try? Help is appreciated. I built this system to play 3 monitors, but I am stuck using one. frown.gif

Sounds like a driver problem.
So 3D single monitor works fine...

You have a SLI water bridge? Thats to bad... Could you still somehow try to run with just 1 GPU instead of 3?

Hi,

To me this sounds as a PSU failure. I could bet my under pants it is. :problem:
It's either to weak for your setup or something broken. If its old it wont have the same juice as before.
Have had similar issues back in the days.
Try running games with only one card, then two.
On my Asus motherboard I can disable PCIe slots with switches on the board. Don't know if your can do that but try to remove the cards and disconnect the power from them.

Have a look here http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/gtx_780_ti_sli_geforce_review,4.html
It says
Quote:
GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 1200 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

And you have lots of other water cooling stuff & fans.

Quote:
What would happen if your PSU can't cope with the load:

Bad 3D performance
Crashing games
Spontaneous reset or imminent shutdown of the PC
Freezing during gameplay
PSU overload can cause it to break down

I believe you have to start looking for a new PSU. ;)

Cheers!

in that case a a combination from Furmark 3D and Prime 95 should not be able to run Stable over a longer duration!

Thanks, ordered a Corsair AX1500i power supply and EVGA Dark motherboard. Will try just switching the power supply first to see if I was indeed overtaxing it with surround on.

Ok finally got AX1500i from Newegg (took a few days to ship it) and switched it out with the seasonic, no other changes. Now I can run surround for about 10 or 15mins before it locks up. Doesn't shut down, temps look okay, but it definitely seems like heat, computer very laggy.

Will now try switching mainboard to EVGA dark and see how it goes, then test each card.

So power supply helped, but still have some issue.
