Post subject:  Rotation issue with 3x1 PPP Surround

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Laptop with 2 x GTX 980M
NVIDIA driver 368.69
3 x Samsung SMMD230 23" 1920x1080 monitors each in portrait mode
Connections: HDMI to DVI, miniDP to DP, miniDP to DVI

Long time AMD Eyefinity guy, bought a new laptop that uses NVIDIA.

I have three monitors each in portrait mode. Eyefinity could span these in 3x1 PPP easily. For the life of me I cannot get this to work under NVIDIA Surround.

I have them working just fine in PPP extend mode with central monitor as primary. Clearly my cards can drive these screens just fine.

When I try to span them with Surround, the Control Panel correctly sees them in PPP layout. When I span them it goes to hell, the two outer displays have nothing at all on them, and the central display has what looks like LLL on it going off the edges of the screen. i.e. central display is now sideways (would be correct if I had it in landscape) and it's trying to display three displays sideways on it. WTF? :)

This spanned setup cannot then be rotated back to portrait mode, rotation is greyed out.

If I disable portrait rotation and leave them in (sideways) landscape mode before spanning, it gives me 3x1 LLL which at least spans all three monitors. If they were physically in landscape it would be a correct 3x1 LLL.

What am I doing wrong? It's supposed to be straightforward to have 3x1 PPP right? :)
