Post subject:  Triple Curved screen setup?

Hello all! Sorry in advance for not following the rules. My first post and not sure if I'm doing this right.

Hail all triple screen gamers! Hope you all are having a wonderful day/night.

Been looking to upgrade my battlestation and wanted to tackle the monitor market.

I have been out of the game in monitors and requesting some guidance and KNAWLEDGE.

ROIGHT. Looking to get triple curved screens.

-Looking for from 27 inch or higher screen size
- 4K
- 60+Hz higher is better
- VESA Support
- Thin bezel
- CURVED
-GSYNC

Just curious if any of you guys ever got a monitor like that. Please tell me your experience of having such a monitor or TV.

I have 3 old 24inch monitors and it leaves such a big gap inbetween the bezels and drives me nuts. Also such thick bezels that my mouse disappears LOL

Any monitors that fits the requirements please tell me. I greatly appreciate your assistance.

Never go 1 screen ever again...

Hi

Just curious, 4k triple setup would require some beasts of gpu´s.. what do you have?
One 4K monitor is more pixels then a triple 1080p setup. So its not a 3*1080p but a 12*1080p. Not sure even two Titans (pascal) can handle that. =)

hello! Thank for the response.

Yes, it would require some beast machine. Currently have two Titan Maxwell cards.

I just want to have 3 screen 4k curved for the fun of it.

I know its mostly impossible to play in that resolution but I should be able to downsize it in game and it would look so awesome.

Half the reason why we get 3 screens is because we can lol

Would you happen to know any monitors that fits these requirements?

Thanks!

Looks really awesome, im totaly for it =)

But it'll be hard to find curved 4K monitors at a decent price, thats why he probably went the TV way.
But downsides with TV's is response time, and make sure you got HDMI 2.0 or yu'll go 30Hz, 30fps is not fun.
After i got my Philips 43" 4K LED BDM4350UC monitor i found this, http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/57f86d7 a curved 4K, but its not IPS panel wich is important to me. It's not the best response time but its good for me and the types of games i play.

I gave up fiddeling and constantly try to fix broken stuff in games, ie (broken HUD, misalinged markers, NO FOV slider if multiscreen, NO DSR Resolution options if using nvidia surround the list goes on)
I Also learnt here that by going to a 21:9 I would have mostly the same problems.
And I really could'nt play on single standard 23" 1080p monitor. I get motion sick no matter the FOV because I got used to triple-wide and have had it since nvidia 200 series. =)

I now have a huge library of games I can play in standard 16:9 and instead of fixing broken stuff I can now dwelve in making it look awesome, DPS resolution ReShade, 4K textures mods etc. Hiting up a older game can be really fun today. And with todays hardware, some stuff can really shine!

I choose a Philips 43" 4K LED BDM4350UC, it got a lot of fluff but most importantly it is an IPS and it's just slightly glossy, which makes some games look stunning with the right "pop" an filmic feeling. Replaying Mass Effect 3 now, and its stunning from what i remember with mods, better textures and shades.
For driving, flying simulation I mostly now uses Oculus Rift.

But i was a bit scared of get rid of my triple setup, for work and such so I also got this for the 4K monitor, that way i can just lift it up and use as a fourth monitor. But im starting to get used to large real-estate when working..so its stays mostly down.

Good on you mate!

Funny thing is I was looking at that. is it VESA mountable?

Also looking at this model.

https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG348Q/

which puts me in a different question.

100hz vs 120hz vs 144hz. do you guys notice any difference?

please let me know!

triple screen FTW.

SOO EXCITED FOR 1080ti!!

Post subject:  Re: Triple Curved screen setup?

Just so you are clear, ultra-wide monitors aren't 4K.. they're 3440x1440... So imagine a 2560x1440 monitor with some extra pixels left and right.

I currently run 2560x1440 x3, so 7680x1440. This is about 3 million pixels more than a single 4k screen.

I am running dual 1080ti's in SLI and I can tell you that I am barely keeping most games at 60fps with max settings.

if you were to run 3440x1440 x 3, you would be pushing 3 million more pixels than my setup, so I doubt you will be able to keep any decent framerate with two cards and max settings. And remember that Pascal cards don't officially support more than two cards in SLI.

I also think that having triple curved monitors would be very awkward to use and lay out properly.. if you think it's going to make a perfect hemisphere, it probably won't.

If you really want the triple monitor setup and curved, why not just have the center monitor the ultra-wide and then your left and right monitors 2560x1440 with the same height? That would look pretty cool and could probably push most games at close to max settings.

I once tried 34" flanked by 1440p 25". It was REALLY wide. I ended up going PLP with it.
