The fun part is that I moved from X1900XT to 8800 GTS 512MB. After years of complain, ATI finally supported GPU scaling since Catalyst 8.3. Scaling was working nicely with the ATI card, but now with the NVIDIA card is broken. :?

ATI scaling works?? Are you sure?

I tried the latest Catalyst drivers with my 9800 Pro and it would NOT scale (XP or Vista).

Is it something that only works with X1xxx+ cards or something?

If so, that sucks, because I went with an NVidia card this last time (8600 GT) when I upgraded because I wanted scaling. I would have gone with a 3850 or 3870 if I knew it would scale....

100% sure it was working with my X1900XT.

Played the whole Sam and Max Season One (wich does't support widescreen monitors) in the correct aspect ratio, with black bars on the sides of the 3D rendered area. Before Catalyst 8.3 it wasn't working.

I can confirm that I've got scaling options available in the Cat drivers with 8.3, for both an X1950 and 3870. However, as all my screens have hardware FARS support, any confirmation I can give on whether it is actually functional or not is moot.
