I was wondering how much brightness/contrast should I have to get the most accurate picture. I've heard about fancy hardware and software that figures it out for you but it sounds complicated and I'm using a TFT panel, so I'm not sure how much good it will do me but I would at least like a more accurate image.

I'm using LG Flatron W2453V model

It depends on the ambient light and your personal preference. But i typically use 60-80% contrast adn brightness, adn that's before any individual color changes. Then there's whhether to use the monitor settings, or your video drivers.

Scope out http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ for help on getting those settings correct (accurate to real life) anbd test pages to help you along.

Just be happy you don't have multple, different displays.

thanks for the link, but is there a TFT image test because I can't make most of the examples work.
