Post subject: | Just got 100-D16-B03-TW.....what next? |
Have been stalking these forums for a while, and am ready to delve into triple screen gaming. So far, all I have is the stand....and a dated core 2 duo rig with a shiny new 6950 modded to 6970. I am upgrading from a 1900x1200 24" Dell 2405FPW, and am hesitant to step down in monitor size...it's feeling like a 24-25" panel might be the right size (would like 1920x1200, but seems like 1920x1080 are priced best). Would like LED for the weight/power consumption implications. I'm fairly colorblind, so i don't need the best color reproduction - and would prefer not to break the bank. Obviously thinner bezels to maximize my eyefinity experience. I've been constantly watching tigerdirect/newegg/mwave/edealinfo.com and looking for the "right" monitor to buy in triplicate, but am overwhelmed with the options. Wondering if anyone out there has recently been through the same experience, or might have some insight or direction. Any input welcome. Thx! |

Unless you're planning on getting a second 6950 and running a crossfire setup, you don't want to get 3 1920 x 1080 monitors. The card just isn't powerful enough to give you decent FPS at that resolution. You're much better off picking up 3 19" monitors at 1440 x 900 or 1600 x 900 each. I'd go with 3 of these, they've got a 0.5 inch bezel, the smallest I've found. The price is right, too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824002497 |

Thanks Seraph - I ended up going with the ASUS VE248H based on bezel uniformity (thin all around not just sides, i.e. portrait possibility), full 24" size, LED backlighting, 3-year adv replacement warranty, ratings, and price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236102&Tpk=ve248h Crossfire will be a possibility (likely post sandy bridge build), but i'll put up with either reduced resolution or detail in the meantime. I've seen some pretty compelling videos of people running single cards. |

Cool - I'd be interested to see what kind of FPS #s you can pull off running at full resolution, as I'm going to be running a 1-card 3-monitor setup myself. |
