For years the WSGF had an #IRC channel where members could connect and chat. Over time #IRC has waned in popularity, and we were left with few people in our chat rooms. After looking at a number of different options (Google Hangouts, Slack, etc.), we feel that Discord is best suited to help our community connect. Discord allows for permanent servers and channels, so we can set easy static links for joining. It also allows for easy sharing of images, and offers voice chat for those who want to game together (complete with Steam overlay). Discord offers both Windows and Mac clients, with Linux in the works. It also offers iOS and Android apps, along with a browser-based option, so you can connect whenever and where ever you want.
