Widescreen Gaming Forum

Hi all, brand new here, I just purchased an Oculus Rift and thought while I needed a new PC for that, it was a good time to start PC gaming but I think I may have made a wrong decision. I have a 174" scope screen and the purpose of going PC gaming was to be able to fill out the 2.40:1 screen instead of going 16X9 with my Xbox One and PS4. So I purchased my favorite game BF1 and I cannot figure out how to get it in widescreen. Am I missing something, Is there a way to get it in widescreen? My projector, the Epson LS10000 has widescreen presets so I would think I should be good to go????
