I know this is veering off-topic but on [H] forums another user posted the same thing - blinking in all driver versions except 10.3. Convinced him to try a different adapter, he did, and blinking was fixed. I believe the problem is a combination of both loose timings in the drivers and poor lenience in the adapter, if you swap adapters you may get one with better compatibility.

man those adapters are expensive and I cant return the one I bought.

FWIW, after I returned the ACCELL Active adapter and bought the Monster DP->VGA adapter, I have had NOT ONE instance [so far] of any blinking/lost signal on my display using this adapter. AND, I've used CAT 10.3, 10.4, 10.4a, 10.5, 10.5Hotfix, and now using the 10.6 Betas. They ALL work with this adapter. This one cost me $50 USD and is well worth it for the stability I'm getting from it.

Oh thank god, finaly a driver that fixes the incorrect 120hz refresh rate bug. can finaly run bad company 2 at 60hz instead of it trying to run at 120hz.
Now just need them to fix the eyefinity crossfire performance issues and i'm sorted

K, i can confirm that bad company 2 now runs at the correct refresh rate of 60hz instead of the false 120hz with eyefinity which has been a major issue for me and others, but vsync still broken in most games as it has been since the 10.5 drivers.

At this point i have shelved my 2 5970's and am currently running a single 5870 which easily out performs the 5970's as vsync works at 60 and i dont have to disable cat ai to get it to work.

I dont think they will ever get drivers that work properly with dual 5970's

Non-beta, signed driers released.

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

I expect more of the same for me and my hardware: no performance imprvements in games, but small fixes adn better (though i doubt 100%0 correct profile loading.

I'm about to install and if anything makes me shit bricks, i'll pass it on. No intended.

[quote][quote]i wonder if these drivers will finally solve the blinking issue with the active display port adapter.

The issue is not with the drivers, its the active displayport adapter.
Try this:
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06c/A10-51210-64268-1844682-64268-3895841-3895842-3895844.html?jumpid=oc_R1002_USENC-001_HP%20DisplayPort%20To%20VGA%20Adapter&lang=en&cc=us

Not a single flicker yet!

well if its not the drivers then why does catalyst 10.3 work perfect for me? I am 99.99% positive its within ati/amd's power to put something in there drivers that elimates blinking. 10.3 works, 10.4 and 10.5 both have blinking issues with active dp adapters.

I can support this claim it is exactly how my setup behaves, I have already RMA'ed my adapter twice, and this one seems to work the best of all, but only with the 10.3 driver does the blinking / blanking go away

can anyone confirm if 10.6 blinks or not?

Since setting up my Eyefinity with the Monster DP -> VGA adapter and with three identical Viewsonic LCDs (24 inch) I have not had a single blinking/flashing/lost signal monitor on my DP adaptered LCD....with but ONE caveat: Very rarely I'll get a "lost signal" window when coming out of the Blank Screensaver setting I've setup. All it takes to get the signal back in that case is to start the Task Manager and then cancel it. Otherwise, since getting this stable Eyefinity setup working, I've used every driver from 10.3 through all the 10.4 versions, the 10.5 releases and the 10.6 beta and official. Eyefinity is working with ALL of them.
