Hey guys i recently purchased a ati 5970 card from ebay(i know,i know, was getting a good deal and for obvious reasons,As he was a fraudster)
I am now having to wait on my dispute from paypal to get my money back :)

Anyways guys i am still going to get the 5970 as i was going to buy 2x 5870 but my motherboard wont run dual cards:(

I currently have $900/£600 to spend on 3 monitors, but i dont know what to buy,i want it to run in 1980 have great colors/crisp picture,HDMI ports for added ps3 and 360,responsive and hopefully thin bezel. The monitors i want will preferably be 24".I play loads of FPS games and also racing games

I am looking for any ideas on this at all to help me build my eyefinity.

Since i was ripped of i been hesitant on buying anything so i decided to buy my monitors first now so any fast help would be appreciated.

These are 23inchers that would be nice. No hdmi port, but an hdmi to dvi cable would work.

I've heard good things about them. They are relatively cheap for an IPS panel which is good.

Sorry to be questioning your decision but... why doesn't your motherboard support dual cards?

Even with a single x16 slot and a x4 pci-e slot (as long as it is 16x length) you should be okay to run crossfire. Or is the board too old? What I was meaning was, is the rest of your hardware up to the task? If you have an old P965 board with a x16 and x4 PCI-e ports, with an E6600, it might be wise to upgrade that too, to allow you more flexibility.

And... if you can do this, the 6770 card looks interesting, it should be somewhere around a 5870 performance, if what I have read it correct.

With any luck, I'll be able to give some opinions of the U2311H tomorrow, as that is the monitor I'm using for a friends build. IPS at that price, with DisPort et al? Can't really complain!

U2410 is another possibility - although a far more pricy option - I love mine.

Thanks guys, keep the suggestions comming :)

The reason i cant have dual cards is that i have Motherboard (P7P55D LE),Dual cards wouldnt run at full speed(so i have been told) therfor i was informed that the 5970 was better option.

I am kind of a gaming nut and i would like all my PS3/360/wii etc on my multi monitor support,so that why i was wanting all port available, but to be honest i really want the best visual setup for my pc hence the reason i kinda want the best monitors at my affordable price just now ie $900/£600.

PS,i got my money back from PAYPAL for the fraud :) card soon i hope, montors first tho :)

Well your motherboard will allow 1 slot at 16x or 2 slots at reduced speed (it is actually limited by your CPU, all socket 1156 chips have the PCI-e controller onboard), however, it has been shown many times that the amount of bandwidth you push through the socket is far less important than the grunt of the cards, or what is becoming more apparent now, the amount of memory the cards have access to.

But to dispel any fears, your mobo will run crossfire (with 2 cards) properly. However a quick google search said that SLI isn't supported, so you might find that the choice is a little limited. For crossfire I would probibly say with till the 12th/ 18th October and see what the HD6770 performs like in SLI, it might be somewhere near the 5970, might not be.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but your board will run Crossfire.

SO considering my motherboard, would your preference be to have dual cards running at slower speeds or 1 card(5970) to run on its own,as i havent bought a card yet.

I am honestly just looking into the best performance for my triple monitor setup. In terms of Racing,FPS games

Wait 2 weeks for the new 6000 series cards then get 2 of them depending on how they turn out!
