A video showing the differences between monitor setups and what vendors support which.
Gameplay footage is from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, recorded via Afterburner on Project64.

Check out the rest of my channel for other multi-monitor content.

Nice one mate!

I'm not sure if Nvidia Surround supports 3x1P but I am pretty sure Nvidia Surround doesn't support 5x1P.

This is a great post, thank you! By the way, Suiken, I tried that ToastyX program you found and it worked perfectly. I can now run 3x1P, 5x1P, 1080p, 1024x768, and 640x480. You officially increased my compatibility, so thank you! :) Keep up the great work.

No problem, I'm glad I could help.

hey great video, i just wanted to show my setup for a softth config, im pretty sure only softth can do more than 6 monitors (except for linux???) And the only thing 6 monitors are good for are rts games such as dawn of war..
My video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ksaGBaFBYA

(not sure if i pasted this link in properly...)

Nice video, would like some additional information if you have time :)

1. On PLP you mentioned 16:10 for center and 4:3 for side monitors but the text in the video says 16:9. Guess that doesn't matter much?

2. Im thinking of selling my 3 24" inch monitors for a future PLP setup and in the meantime get something like a ultra widescreen monitor like 21:9 but there only seems to exist 29" monitors for that with a resolution of 2560x1080. Would that be a problem or can I adapt for other sidemonitors?

Thanks for the great vid

SoftTH is pretty awesome. You can do almost anything with it. I still don't think I'd want a horizontal bezel for rts games.

Well, I didn't feel like drawing a 16:10 monitor. Technically you can do plp with a 16:9 monitor as long as you find monitors that fit.

You can use what ever side monitors you want. If you want the 29" 21:9 monitor, 23" 1080p monitors would line up almost perfectly and it would be LLL. As far as I know, there are no 1080 wide 4:3 monitors.
