Well frankly i think the 4:3 is the one that looks squashed- or else I've never seen a coat that skinny before. Regardless there's more detail on the screen and the ambulance looks less like a toy, but you're right, the same details exist in the pictures.

What I said in my explanation is that you CHANGE the 1600x1200 strings in thae file I mentioned to the resolution of your choice. 1600x1200 is 4:3 so none of us have a need for it. I can't do 16x12 either but changing it to those values to "1680" and "1050" enables that option for me in-game.

I believe there are binary editing tutorials available on this site, and it would be silly for me to reinvent the wheel. However, if someone meets me half way and tells me what programs to use to write a patch, I'll write one for whatever resolutions you guys want and post it here.

That's what I'm trying to tell you man, I did a search for those specific offsets in my file and couldn't find them anywhere.

So just search for the string. "1600" and "1200". Maybe you have a different version than me, but I have to one that's off the shelf of a New York City game store...

1600 and 1200 didn't bring up anything, oh well. I think I have a multilanguage version, it let me select english out of 3 other languages, I guess that's what I get for buying off ebay, lol.

One more note:

If you patch the game, you have to modify the BYTECODE file again. Luckily, the position of the strings stays the same (at least in the American version). I've also seemed to confirm that these offsets are the same in at least one of the international versions, which should improve you chances of seeing widescreen animated boobs.

anyone have an update on this? i cant get the game to work on my 20.1" vx2025wm. it's stuck at 1280x1024 with 4 huge borders on each side making the game looks very small.

Also the game has this 'static' effects, which i dont remember having with my old 19" crt...:(

sorry i know its an old game, but heard its good so i really want to try this..

the fix that djbell suggested does indeed work.. i used UltraEdit to change the values.

One problem I just encountered though, is that the game crashes when you're about to dive into the water to save that kid.

I got past the crash by putting the original bytecode.btc file back, completing the sequence, saving game and then putting the widescreen patched bytecode.btc file back.

Hope that helps.

since my monitor only suports 1440*900 i tried editing 1280*1024 with no sucess.

editing the 1024*768 works just fine :D
