I am wondering if the 3870x2 is compatible with the TH2GO? I asked at Matrox and they suggested I asked somewhere else.

I am talking about the 3870x2 with only the 2 dvi ports on it not the one with 4 on it as if I got the one with 4 on it I shouldn't even need my TH2GO anymore.

I hope someone here can answer this.

Thanks
Gum

In theory the TH2G just needs a single dual-link dvi output able to be set at 3840x1024, so the 3870X2 should work.

In practice who knows.

On a DirectX 10 Card you should be able to do it.

I couldnt get it working on my 3870x2 and TH2G digital edition with the DVI cable.
But I've found a little workaround:

1. Instead of useing the DVI cable, i plugged the D-SUB into the TH2G analog-in

2. On the other end i've taken a D-SUB to DVI adapter (since the 3870x2 has only two DVI-out's) and connected it with the gfx-card.

This way you can use the TH2G digital on the 3870x2.

The good: both desktop and games work at a resolution of 3840x1024 on my three 19" LCD's. (and thanks to the gfx-card at smooth frame rates :)

Limitations:
lower resolution are not supported properly
bezel management doesnt work
useing the analog connector isnt optimal on LCD's

Matrox pls fix these problems soon!!!

Those sound like ATI problems, not Matrox problems.

Does that mean that the digital version has an analog input and support for 3840x1024 analog?

Ditto - yes. The "Digital" TripleHead2Go actually has a lot of improved features over the Analogue TripleHead2Go for analogue VGA users, such as 75Hz and 85 Hz refresh rate for most triple 4:3 resolutions and DVI-I outputs that can be connected directly to CRT monitors with the use of a DVI-to-VGA adapter. Of course the ability to use bezel management even with this analogue signal chain is a big plus (although in reality I find the large bezels of CRTs preclude its use).
