Max res this game lists is 12x10. Any way to go higher than that?

Is the game limiting this i.e. can anyone go higher than this res within the game?

Ideally would like to get to 19x10 , my native res.

Help.

Bump.

Hello?!!!

Someone must know how to do this. Look here
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/screenshots.php

If you sellect Act of War in the pull down it is obvious that wide screen is possible in this game yet there is nothing on this site that I can see saying how.

Speak up people!!!!

Cleaning up the forum and found this unanswered. I took that screenshot from the AoW demo. The 1280x720 res was available native in the demo.

It still seems that Act of War doesn't support widescreen. Fully patched it won't do anything over 1600x1200. :( No options at all for 16:10 ratio resolutions.

I found this however it appears my Geforce 6800GT doesn't support 16:9 ratio resolutions.

Properties->Settings->Advanced->Adapter->List All Modes doesn't show 1920x1080, etc...

You can add custom resolutions. I see no reason why your 6800GT wouldn't support 16:9 resolutions. Mine did/does.

Sorry I know this is a really old thread but when I select resolution, the max it offers is 1024x768 when my max monitor (and native) resolution is 1280x800.

I've tried it stocked and with patch 1.6 (latest) and no change.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I tried it on my 37-inch 1080p TV and the max resolution it gives me is 1280x1024. What the hell is wrong with this game?

I have games MANY years older than this that work great upto huge resolutions, 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10.

ok guys, on moddb.com is a fixed exe file with widescreen resolutions, as per description the widescreen-resolutions are hidden by internal ui-setup. but this exe is only for the steam-version...

I've trying it on my Retail-exe 1.06 but i'm a noob in hex-editing  (didn't find these offset in the exe file).

here's a little part of the description:
Quote:
Technical details: By default Act of War correctly detects all your resolutions, but filters them for resolutions which have an aspect ratio of 1.25 or 1.33. This filtering happens during UI-setup (after the strings for the menus have been allocated etc.). The filtering code can be found at file offset 0x62E8A4 (search for 83C4F489542404 and you should find it in any version). This patch merely replaces the first opcode of that function by 'mov al, 1; retn'.

Maybe someone can find this part in the exe file, i've already post something on moddb.com (see comment on the bottom).

As far as I understood you should look for 83C4F489542404 and replace it with B001C389542404.
I don't have the game handy (damn DVDs) so I can't test on retail game atm

(would you also mind to confirm the actual location of the .exe?)

OK, finally here it is:

The right position is on 5AE3F0 there is one of the many "83C4F489542404"-positions in this exe-file. My file is a protectless 1.06.3 exe. for german/english etc. (europe maybe)

Download on moddb.com
