Can someone please walk me through or show me which files I need to edit to get 3840x1024 to work in HL2 mods. The SGU program from Matrox only configures CS:S and HL2 but now I can't even see how SGU edits it because SGU stopped working on my system. So any help would be fine. thanks

Can you not just choose the resolution in the game ... ?

In the video options ... choose the Aspect Ratio ... 16:9 ... then the TH resolutions should be in the list of available resolutions.

I have never used the SGU for Valves Steam engine games.
I assume mods would work the same way.



I haven't tried this but ... maybe you could add the resolution to the shortcut target line ... like this ...

-h 3840 -w 1024

So it would read ... (this is for Team fortress 2)
"C:Program FilesSteamSteam.exe" -applaunch 440 -h 3840 -w 1024

D'oh never thought about choosing 16:9...lol noob mistake. I tried it but the game crashes just when I am about to load into a server. Not sure what to do now.

Hmmm ... not sure what that might be ...

The game crashes in 1280x1024 and in 3840x1024... "hl2.exe has stopped working........" is the error I get.

Then the problem is nothing to do with TH ...

Do you have the latest nVidia drivers ?

Ah... I believe the problem might be a patch issue. I am using v1.0 and there is v1.1 and v1.1a patches that resolve crashing issues. Hope this is it.

Yeah, patching fixed the problem. BTW Insurgency is a fun mod.
