Ok. My wife has given me the go ahead to upgrade my PC.
I have the following;
ASUS P5N-D motherboard w/Q6600 Quad Core
4Gb ram
EVGA 8800 GT 512mb(had 2 SLI'd until my sons video card died 2 months ago so I gave him one of mine)
Vizio 26" LCD

I was going to keep the monitor and upgrade the PC basically, getting an Extreme Processor, 12Gb ram, and a new video card.

But instead I am going to keep the CPU, upgrade the memory to 8Gb, and get a Radeon 5870 video card.

And get 3 monitors and do an eyefinity setup. I've been looking and was looking at getting 3 24" monitors as a setup. The wife is fine with me doing this instead of upgrading my PC. She asked what I was planning to get and I said I was looking at 3 24" monitors. She asked what size I currently have and I said 26". She said she doesn't want me to go down in size, and said to get 27" instead. And I told her 27" monitors are much more expensive and she is fine with it.

So I was looking a 3 Dell 2709W monitors as my setup. Anyone have these as an eyefinity setup?

Any other good monitors you can recommend?

Thanks,
Joe

If you go bigger, you might as well get more resolution as well (if in your budget of course) other wise it's gonna looked stretched to you. So I'd say go for a Dell U2711. it has a resolution of 2560x1440 (16:9) unless you are a real fan of a 16:10 res go for a Dell 3008wfp. The Dell U2711 is just slightly more expensive than the Dell 2709W and has a better panel. I'd say go for this one. You also get a wider FOV with it.

I looked on Dell's website and didn't find any u2711.
The only 27" is the u2709W listed on their website

It was just announced at CES, and probably isn't for sale yet.

Remember that with Eyefinity you can't drop to something like 3x1920x1080, so you better get CrossFire or be happy turning settings down in some areas.

What do you mean by this exactly:

So I know I've been looking at the Dell 2709W monitors, and using 3 of these.

Any other monitor recommendations?
How is the NEC MultiSync EA261WM-BK - LCD display - TFT - 26"?
or the ASUS VW266H Black 25.5" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD?

I know both these would require a DP-DVI convertor.

My current Vizio VMM26 is a 25.5" monitor so getting 3 25.5" would definitely seem bigger to my wife. She wouldn't notice the difference between it and a 27" seeing she only has my current monitor as a reference.

And I could save some money and possible get a new motherboard and CPU also :D

You can use an EDID mask to trick eyefinity though.

So I noticed the Dell 2709W are on sale for $799. Only question I have about that is I can still get it cheaper from Buy.com, only $755.99 each, small shipping and no tax. So a savings of about $300.
Buy.com:
Items: $2,267.97
Shipping & Handling: $23.04
Tax: $0.00
Order Total: $2,291.01

Dell:
Sub Total Sub Total $2,397.00
Shipping & Handling 1 $57.00
Shipping Discount Shipping Discount -$57.00
Tax 2 $185.77
Total Total 3 $2,582.77

What if I have a problem with it? Is it covered under Dell's warranty or do I return it to Buy.com.
Anyone know if BUY.com has a good return/exchange policy?
